As part of the ALMS races at Laguna Seca this weekend, there will be
a special Porsche-only corral. Here's the information from Larry Sharp,
our Zone rep:
The Porscheplatz, held concurrently with the ALMS races and Porsche Cup
races, will be awesome. PCNA is sponsoring the event, and Porsche will
have a corral and hospitality tent from which you can watch the debut
of
Porsche‚s new LMP2 racer, Porsche‚s reentry into the prototype racing
world. Those Porsches in the „platz‰ (i.e. corral) will have an
opportunity to drive on track. Please be sure that you attend this
unique
weekend event which celebrates both PCA‚s 50th anniversary and
Porsche‚s
re-entry into prototype racing.
The PCA corral will be open to PCA members driving their Porsche, but
here
is the catch. Before going to the track, you must pick up the corral
passes at "will call," which is located at the Embassy Suites in
Seaside,
at 1441 Canyon Del Rey. (Bring your PCA cards, too, just in case). If
you
drive to the track without the corral passes, there is no assurance
that
you will be able to park in the corral and you may be parking on a hill
in
the dirt. This approach was implemented by Laguna, not PCA. My
understanding is that there is no charge for the passes.
Within the corral, there will some cool activities, including a driver
„meet and greet‰, plus special door prizes. There will be a very
special
dinner Saturday night at the Pebble beach lodge, after the ALMS race.
Please consider attending, as you may have the opportunity to meet a
very
special guest or two, and certainly enjoy a great meal in awesome
surroundings.
