Our local car club The Scottsdale Exotic Car Club has organized a "Day at the Drags" on Saturday, March 11 2006. We will be running at Speedworld, the area's best dragstrip. We already have about 35 cars registered, including; several RennTech V12 Benzes, 2 Porsche Carrera GTs, EVOMS GT700, GT800 and GT900 supercars, a 900hp Toyota Supra, a 1200hp twin turbo Viper, a Gemballa GT600, several AMG Benzes, 2 '06 C6 Z06's, a Lamorghini Mucielago and Gallardo, a couple of Bentley Continental GTs and several others. We have cars coming from as far away as Northern California, Vegas, LA, San Diego and Utah.
This is your chance to run your car at a great track and come see and run with several other cars that you've read about.

quick question: did you buy your CGT from a salesman by the name of "David" at Porsche of North Scottsdale? I bought my Cayenne from him and hes a great guy! He was telling me a story about how some really nice customer made him drive the CGT after he bought the car from him and he loved it

I'm ijnterested in going but have no idea about drag racing, I'd really like to see what my car is capable of. Will there be people available to instruct?

 

We'd love to have you. Instruction will be available. I have over 2000 passes down the strip under my belt, as well as, my NHRA racing license. I would be happy to take you down the strip your 1st couple of times and then turn you loose.

Nope, got mine from Luxury Motors in Chicago. I was at Porsche North Scottsdale yesterday though, I took my salesman, Chris Moore, for a ride in my GT700 since I got the upgrade. In his words the car was "scary fast"

 

I'll try to make it. It's not often that I feel like I'm at a horsepower disadvantage but in this crowd I definitely will. I only have an EVO stage II 996tt.

 

haha, less than 2 weeks ago for business...sharing a house in a nice community here in the south mountain area. Plan is to be here until Dec although I'm flying back to SF monthly and technically still live there too . Funny that i was already out ripping around firebird in my car less than 4 days after coming out here (due to my very cool housemate). Maybe we can do a mini 6speed gtg for some photos sometime later this month...shoot me an IM or email with your contact info.
