Thanks to Jason (Atomic80) for the amazing photos. You need to come out with us when your new Cobalt 997TT arrives.

Todd and Jags sorry you missed out on this one. There were some crazy highway pulls. Ben's Ariel Atom really spiced things up a bit....

it was a blast...I only wish that we had been able to do more pulls. Vincent, I was looking over at you all the time to see if you were ready but between the helmet, your tinted windows, and the world blasting by me at 100mph, it was hard to tell when to go. I think we know the results allready though.

Next time, we line up the Pcars

These type of comments make me glad I didn't go on the drive after the shop gathering saturday. I-90 in traffic is not the place to be hitting triple digit speeds, that's what Pacific Raceways is for

you're right, exceeding the speed limit on public roads is dangerous. I will never do it again. I'll forward your amazingly enlightening opinion on to the rest of the world.

FYI, those slow VWs that I was referring to (in case that's what hit a nerve with you) were going at a snails pace down a clear mountain road. On the highway, many were blasting along just as fast as the rest of us.

Seriously Ben, how many bugs did you eat during that drive in your Ariel? No I don't mean VW bugs.

Can't say I'm surprised by your attitude and response. Exceeding the speed limit is quite different then racing others at 100+ on public roads. I'm all for spritied driving on back roads, I-90 is not a back road. Don't feel like i'm singling you out by the quote, the comments were directed at anyone with the attitude that public roads are your race track.

Try taking your car to PR, I think you'd enjoy hitting triple digits safely while running against your friends, I know I do.

Chris, on the way down it was a back mountain road,NOT I-90.... the cars were doing 10-20mph... if not stopped... when were on the freeway we were doing 100 at times, but traffic was light or there was none (as on the drive up to the pass). traffic on the way back down was more heavy and most of us were not hauling *** as much.

the drive up the mountain was fun since traffic was so damn light, if not empty at times.. in those conditions you have your spirited times too, but not in heavy traffic, as most of the people i know on this board that i drive with drive that way also

- wasn't racing anyone, "doing pulls" is different than racing. Maybe you should freshen up on your street driving lingo.
- traffic was non-existent when we were doing said pulls. Don't claim that you know the conditions surrounding what we were doing. You weren't there.
- I've been to PR numerous times in numerous vehicles (road course and drag strip). Doesn't mean I don't like driving spiritedly on public roads as well.

You're the "take it to the track" guy. Pat yourself on the back. There always has to be one.

I guess I should get a slap on the wrist for "doing a pull" with the Atom on the way back.

The one who should get their keys taken away is the guy in the bright blue GTI that spun out in the middle of IH90.

the blue Rabbit is a fast car (vr6 turbo 350ish hp) but limited to a straight line...From what i understand he was trying to keep up with some of us and lost it in the turn... those cars can be fast... but fast and around a corner is something totally different

and yes you get a slap on the wrist!!

lol, since when is "doing pulls" not racing? you're lining up against another car and flooring it... seems to me you're seeing who's fastest, ie racing. Take some of your own advice and spruce up your street lingo definitions

I see from Bruce's response as well that this was done off of I-90, so I stand corrected. You were racing on back roads.

With an Atom, I would hope you track it as it makes a horrible street car. I see sarcasm is tough to detect on the internet.

And you're right, this is like beating a dead horse. Some people know what's safe on the road, others don't.

It's a VR6 Kinetic kit with an IC, it's not going to hit 350hp Bruce

He narrowly missed several cars (the intended victims say it was within inches over on vortex) so he was very lucky to be able to drive his car home. I'd be guessing they had words with him after the drive.

There was no turn when the blue rabbit lost it. He came up too fast on a car on the outside lane, swerved to the shoulder to avoid hitting it, over corrected and started coming back toward me (I was in the third lane) and spun out in the second lane. Luckily I was able to avoid this guy. If that car has that much power he needs to work on the suspension and brakes. It looks like they haven't been upgraded which they should if he is making close to that much power. I don't think the old parts are up to the task.
