These meets are always fun and mature, although we don't tolerate any immature behavior we do our best to minimize it! On another note I hate it when people make biased assumptions over little things like the letter "Z" and portray everything as something negative You're more than welcome to attend and meet fellow Mercedes and Car enthusiasts for food and drinks!

Three men jailed in security guard shooting at Santana Row

By Leslie Griffy

Mercury News

Three men are in jail awaiting charges on an alleged drive-by shooting at Santana Row that injured a security guard early Friday morning, San Jose police said.
Police had asked the men to leave the upscale shopping and housing complex about an hour before the shooting, Sgt. Nick Muyo said.
Two of the men, who haven't been identified, caused a ruckus near the large, outdoor chess board at the center, Muyo said, around 12:50 a.m. Friday. The center's security guards asked the men to leave, but they refused.
The guards called police, who took down the names and addresses of the two men and convinced them to move on.
``It's the way you try to handle these things,'' Muyo said. ``You get their names, you get the troublemakers out and everyone goes about their business.''
But the two men went back, police said.
Around 2 a.m. the two men -- with a friend in tow -- cruised back up Santana Row, between Olin Avenue and Olsen Street, then fired multiple times at a group of three security guards standing in the area near Yankee Pier and Left Bank restaurants, according to police.
One security guard was hit. The 55-year-old, whose name hasn't been released, is expected to make a full recovery, Santana Row spokesman Ed Kiley said.
Emergency crews responding to the scene took the guard to the hospital, where he was later released.
Officers responding to calls of a drive-by shooting at Santana Row suspected they already had the names and addresses of people who may have been involved, Muyo said.
They spotted a car that matched the car security guards described from the drive-by near Winchester Boulevard, where the earlier troublemakers said they lived. When officers pulled the car over, the men they had met in the first incident were in it, along with their friend.
Evidence at Santana Row and in the car, Muyo said, tied the men to the crime.

I agree with Fred about D&B for a Friday night meeting. I enjoy games and a few drinks at D&B as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't bring any of "higher attention" cars there. The parking lot on a Friday night will be VERY full. The Milpitas police will be driving around looking for an excuse to ticket you. There will be lots of the "F&F crowd". I'm not hating on the F&F crowd. One of my favorite cars on the whole planet is the Honda Civic. From MY past experiences they just don't mix in very well with other auto-enthusiasts. Especially younger ones.

I'd take my chances at Santana Row over D&B ANY day. In ANY car.
