I am going to try and be there by 9:30 myself, it is about an hour and a half drive for me. But I have run many track rentals and they usually start running about 10, 10:30 and finish up 5 or 6 at night.

This info is pretty accurate. I will try to get there extra early and try to hurry up the track prep so that we can take advantage of the cooler morning air.

They don't have tech inspection when you rent the track, and sharing a helmut is a hassle so if I was you I would go out and buy one or borrow one from a friend.

Once again he is correct.

I think MIR might have loaner helmets but I'm not sure. Look up Speed Unlimited, they sell helmets and they are on the way to MIR I believe.

Benzz is right speed unlimited is right by Andrews Air Force base about 4 or 5 miles north of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge right off of 95. But you could also try a motorcycle shop, Sports Authority or even Wal Mart. Just like tech they are not going to be checking helmuts although they might want you to be wearing one if you are running 12's or faster. So you can get away something cheap if thats all you can find.

Will a cabon fiber open face motorcycle helmet do the trick? It looks like a jockey helmet. That's what I'm bringing. If so, Cohare can borrow mine.

They dont check helmets. As long as it looks like a helmet you're good

thanks to Ahmad for setting it all up. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Dude, that benz was sick. Did Jamie ever improve his 11.06? Thanks Ahmad, I had a great time and I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Thumbs up

No I never did improve that 11.06 but I did run an 11.07 and I had a mph of 126.5 but I could never get that 1.55 leave again the 11.07 was a 1.60 short. I kind of got out of the groove when I tried to run both cars, if I had it to do over I would only bring one next time. Not only did I kind of lose the technique that was working, the track was getting a little greasy and it was getting even hotter if you can believe it, I saw 101 degrees in my car in the staging lanes at 4:30. I think we should do another one in a month or so if anyone is up to it, it should be a lot cooler and we should run better. I know it cost 800 for 8 cars all day and I think it costs 100 per car to bring more.
I really enjoyed meeting Chris and Mario! Super guys and honestly without their and advice and help I am not sure I could of run those times? 2 beautiful cars you guys had by the way although I am sure you didn't need me to tell you that. I also enjoyed meeting Derrick and all the other guys as well, super bunch of guys and I am glad I we all got to meet and have a good time. I am sure though we would have had a lot better time if it had been even just 20 degrees cooler, but all in all a really good time!
