Time for another exhaust... Introducing the Kline "Loud".

I've been conversing with Sam about exhausts for several months. I currently have had three different configurations on (including stock), and keep wanting louder until the most recent set-up. At the same time, I'm hating the amount of drone I've been dealing with. This next system had to be as loud as possible without drone and I require cats (its a personal requirement and I don't plan on doing any kind of ECU tuning for now).

Currently the Sharkwerks straight-pipes and the 200-cel HPC cats have a rabid tone at startup while the DFI system warms up. It's "my neighbors really really hate me" loud. Once underway, the tone is properly basso profundo and equally raw (but not raspy). It sounds like a loud 991 GTS. Where is falls apart is when I drive up a hill and the car runs the PDK into 1600-2100 rpm. The drone becomes filling-removal loud in the car with the windows closed. Shifting above 3000 rpm totally silences it, but I'm not going to drive in manual mode or in Sporty Plus as a habit on my way to work at 7:30 am.

So Sam has promised that this system is *it*. I'd like to introduce the Kline "Loud" (or "Magnum" or whatever Sam or Kline wants to call it.)

Between the 100-cell cats, the specific mufflers, and even the tips, I've been told that this is as loud as a system gets without "much" drone. I have said I'm OK with a little bit of drone because I understand the harmonics of the engine and headers as it sits. You can't notch filter the sound and preserve the basso profundo.

I'll let you guys know what the sound is like and how the RS-style tips look on the car in the next couple of weeks when I get a chance to pull the cars pants down (once again). I'm getting pretty good at yanking the rear bumper, so I can probably fit it in one weekend afternoon.

If it's either not loud enough or doesn't sound right, I'm on to headers. The dealer let me know they couldn't imagine a way that headers would cause warranty issues on a stock-ECU car.

Also, congrats to Sam, who now has a second son... and all the things that come along with that .

Cheers my friend it's been a pleasure working with you and having nice chats. And thank you we are so excited here. Just got home. Not like I sleep much anyways ha ha.

I want to send a special thanks to Felix and Christian at Kline for always working with my and my customers requests. We have done a lot of cool things together and are developing even more options for everyone together. Felix and I share many of the same thoughts and ways of doing things. Sometimes we **** Christian off but he always sets us straight on the engineering side and it all works out great! Innovation is always controlled by function. Combating drone is a big core development at Kline. Can't wait to get your feedback and hear this beast. Looks beautiful!

Oh and lol on the "Magnum"! For now you are the first and we will see where it goes.

Here's a few pics Felix took of the By Design/Kline 991TT RS or "Magnum" system when he shipped it. Hope we did you proud!

The "RS" style tips will send a message to knowing Porsche owners (and others) that there's something
special going on back there!

Im interested to see how they fill in the valence "hole". There is a slight difference in the angle of the edge that I need to see in the car to understand.

The "cut" in the actual GT2RS is almost parallel with the edge of the bumper. While this system here isn't cut perpendicular to the flow (ala GT-R or many japanese systems), I worry that its too far on the perpendicular side. I'm hoping for more GT2RS and less GT-R-with-blue-discoloration, if you pick up what I'm putting down.

I'm hoping to put the system on in the next few days. The suspension in the LX470 has been way too much of a distraction.

It looks pretty good. If the angle is wrong you can sort of tell something is off. On the actual GT2 The bumper has a different contour there. Here's a few pictures of the track pipes with that angle and even a few flame shots to demonstrate further LOL .

Well, it's on there.

So far... it's really quiet. I realize that the HJC cats and Sharkwerks setup was really, really loud, but this is much much more refined.

I'm sure my "drone dial" is broken after the last setup, but I'm pretty sure there's less drone now than there was stock.

It is certainly much MUCH more refined sounding, but I definitely miss the snarling beast. These are 100-cell cats, too... so I don't think that's the quieting factor.

The thing is, I think most of you would find the car louder than stock and amazing sounding. It certainly sings under boost and in the upper RPMS... but it doesn't scare children and make old ladies curse any more.

Cruising to work, the only thing I could discern was tire noise

I'd like the tips to fill out the holes in the valence a little better and also not stick out rearward as much... but I'm probably being too picky and should see how it grows on me.

In a related note, I pulled the bumper and parts off in my biking clothes after a ride. The "bumper removal process" is getting so second-hand that I'm sure I could instruct my 9-year old to do it.

No one should be afraid of the "bumper removal" process. Very easy with just a few tools.

Hey Chris. Give a few miles to get more tone and sound. The goal was to get you the most sound and keep the dual personality. Cats quiet things up too yeah. I think what you had was so loud it's hard to gauge. on the tips we can adjust which is why we went with removable ones in the design.

Some vids in Sport+?????

Absolutely. It will get some time to pack out if there's packing in any of the mufflers.

I'll get some videos soon... in Sport+ too, for sure

The new exhaust really is "packing out" and sounding pretty amazing. It certainly has a spot where the addition of throttle, RPM, and boost makes it sing really nicely. With a few more miles it might actually begin to rumble at idle as well

At the same time I'm regaining my hearing from the old system and enjoying the new things I can hear :P

I agree. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do.
