My 997 TT - A Story in Pictures
#76
I picked up some Evoms BRV's and will likely install those in the coming month or so...
Finally got around to snap some pics of the OEM red seatbelts I picked up and installed. Fairly straight forward install, takes about 25 minutes a side give or take.
and I replaced my destroyed lip with an OEM lip painted black so she is all back together again.
No mods in the immediate future. She'll be hitting the track this fall, so maybe some sway bars and suspension mods in the future, but not anytime soon.

I didn't do the rears. I've read that they are a bit tricky (I could see that just because working in the rear would be cramped) but I am considering moving to a roll bar setup in the rear so until I make up my mind, I haven't pulled the trigger on rears.

No real updates to speak of - just been driving and enjoying the car.
Here are a few sweet pics my buddy took the other evening:

Thank you, I agree! Ties in with the red on the inside too. Very happy with the new caps!

I'll see if I can do that when they are installed.
I don't recall offhand. I'm sure they are likely somewhere in this thread. I have small spacers in the rear too (pretty sure they are 5mm).

On the driver side, you have to remove the fender liner to access the BRV. Then it's a simple bolt removal, and install in reverse order. Easier on a lift, but not difficult at all.

Went to the drag strip for the first time in this car - did pretty well.
Ran with a passenger and full weight - car measured 3840 lbs.
Ran 4 times.
First time vs a jeep wrangler lol - handled him, but it was close
2nd race vs a tuned hurrican with full hatless exhaust - he ran an 11.16 and smoked me!
3rd race vs a modified 911 turbo - he had some issues at the start - i won that one
4th race rematch vs turbo - really good race but i won that as well.
All in all, very happy. The car behaved beautifully - the driver mod needs some work, but happy for the first time out. I think i started to figure out the right launch RPM and my shifts were pretty good. Fun day!
2nd race: (I gave the other guy the slip since they screwed up and gave him the wrong one - his time was way more impressive)
1st, 3rd, and 4th race (from left to right)

Went to track again this weekend.
Ran pretty consistent times. Weather is still warm and humid, so i think i may try again when it gets cooler.
Still learning the launch point on the vehicle which appears to be best done @ 2800-3200 rpm - anything higher 3500-4000 causes it to bog down a bit, still need some practice but getting much better. Such a blast to drive! First trip into the 11's - still plenty of room to improve that time.

Using my dash cams - i pulled this video of my best run:
