Tequipment Roll Bar - Help

Hey guys,

I just received a tequipment roll bar from a friend that not using it.
The problem is that its missing all the screws for installation and have a bit of dirt/rust(was in a storage for 2 years) that im not sure how to clean without damaging the finish.

I want to install it on my 2011 TTS without the so called "back seats" and to have the carpet changed to the RS OEM one.

Any ideas how i can get the missing screws to install it and the RS Back carpet ?
Part numbers will be great !

Did someone painted the bar ?

Thank you very much...

If you do a google search, your local porsche dealer can source the parts for you.

I bought one that was powdercoated white. I stripped it with airplane stripper and was pleasantly surprised that the original finish in tact and perfect. I think the dust/rust wipes right off... did you give that a try?

Also, there's a plastic piece that needs to be trimmed before you can install the roll bar.

Hey Edwin,

I'm trying with the local Porsche dealer but its not that easy with them...

I was thinking to try clean it with lemon or soda powder but ill give it a try with the airplane stripper.
The dust/dirt coming out with a finger swipe its not that serious.

Actually i don't have any knowledge about this installation process so can you please be more specific on what plastic should be trimmed ?

Thank you for the help

I'm not sure I would use the airplane stripper direct on the metal. It might be ok but that stuff is strong.

On cutting the plastic, search on YouTube "installing a Porsche rollbar in a 2004 gt3" and jump to 10:30-10:35. It'll show what plastic piece you need to trim. The video is also very useful on telling you how to do it.

Few things to look out for. Be VERY careful not to tear up your interior when you take your seats out. Some people forget the rails on the bottom of the seats and you can really scratch up the door/center console. Second thing is be very careful not to break your windshield. It's a very tight fit and I receommend using those cheap window sunscreens so the glass is protected. When you finally get the bar in and start positioning it, the top of the bar will rub against your alcantar headliner. Go slow so it doesn't leave a mark or tear.

Ill try lemon and soda powder before the airplane stripper its minor dirt.

I was at the Porsche dealer today trying to order the GT2 back cover(where normally the back seats are)but my car interior is stone grey and apparently this part is not coming in this color so they send an email to Germany to see if it possible to fabricate it.

Regarding the screws they gave some part numbers but didn't find all of them online tried at Sonnen.

Regarding the installation we went thru the process on Porsche system and look pretty tricky but im gonna let them do the job so in case something happen i will get new one for free.

Again thank you for the help.
Will keep posting the progress.

Cheers

Also, be careful with the roof liner...the alcantara can get damaged easily when installing the cage.
