New to the forum, have pretty much read every thread about the GTS vs Turbo. Looks like several prefer the GTS. This will be my daily driver and I am coming from a 2012 BMW 550xi M-Sport.

Two small kids and need the back room - live in southern Ohio so test driving both is almost impossible as the closest dealer is 1:30 away. Looking at going used like 2013 or 2014. Will only keep for about 1 year at most. So as long as car has some original warranty left no big deal on CPO.

Was set on trying to find a GTS , but looking at some cars and seems like the Turbos are greatly reduced compared to their MSRP.

Eyeing this 2013 Turbo S with only like 12k on it. : WP0AC2A70DL090368 Can someone run options on this for me? Think I can get it for around $79k-$81k

What you guys think? Or should I stay with the GTS?

 

I was in the same dilemma as you when I bought my car. The Turbo S are fairly cheep due to the big cut they take compared to the GTS. But as I was told by 3 different Porsche dealers. If you come from a 911 and want some of the same driving qualities go with the GTS. I did and bought a GTS. Absolutely fantastic car with GREAT sound��

 

Try to drive both before deciding. IMO Turbo is the way to go. All the standard equipment plus the leather, power, etc... once you experience it you will love it.

 

Currently looking for a GTS myself after test driving both (had more seat time in the turbo). Sure - the turbo has undeniable oomph but GTS seemed like it had more soul and driving characteristic behind it.

Turbo to me feels very floaty and disconnected. But that launch control on it will roll the eyes back into your head.

The suede interior on the GTS is top notch and there are no turbos in that setup.

 

I think the new GTS coming out in a year or two may be a Turbo V-6? Those V8 GTS Pannys are some of the most fun around, and very unique. A 440 hp NA V8 with AWD, air suspension, turbo brakes- it's a great combo.


If you get a PTT - put summer tires on it, makes a big difference. It's a tough call, both are great, and both have their own personality. The turbo is a rush but the GTS may be the better all-rounder.

 

Anyone have any opinions on price point on the above PTTs that I posted? What a good price would be?

Most people who have owned both cars, seem to go back to the Turbo. I am in that boat where I felt like the Turbo was the better all around car compared to the GTS..having owned both.

 

I love my GTS, great car, but given the choice I would take TurboS. The one you are quoting (2013 with 12k for $80 sounds too good tone true). You beet do your due diligence...

 

personal opinion GTS, less headache, more resale value, better looking interior.

 

IF the interior is spec'd "correctly" it will be just as good as the turbo. I love all the leather and plushness of my turbo.

 

Just went through the same dilemma of whether to get a Turbo or GTS. Settled on the 2013 GTS as it is more of an enthusiast model than the Turbo. Tight suspension, big brakes, gorgeous interior/exterior, perfect engine/exhaust symphony, tons of oomph (0-60 in low 4s). This replaced my wife's 2014 SRT Jeep and so far we are extremely happy with it!
