My 30 days is up, but I scheduled an appointment prior to it ending to have them replace a TPMS sensor that just went bad and fix my squealing brakes.
Followed up with CarMax just before my 30-day window ended. I complained that they originally put a cheap Autozone battery in and it has failed to start a couple times. I asked for them to use OEM parts, so they're giving me an OEM battery and OEM brake rotors/pads. They declined replacing the TPMS since the light went off and hasn't come back on. I'm pretty satisfied with the amount of things they've replaced within the 30-day window, despite nothing being really "broken".

The silver flake doesn't match entirely and there is clear coat on the rubber trim on the roof.

What really bothered me on the oily residue on the intake is that the passenger side intake was completely pristine and clean. I would assume that if it was just residue it would be consistent over the whole motor but this is only on the driver side.
That's a tough one. My engine bay was a bit dirty when it arrived, but there was nothing glaringly wrong. I think that dirt is just dirt/grime. You can always wipe it down, drive it, and see if it accumulates back quickly. My paint was all 100% original per the PPI. I would be skeptical of the clearcoat, but overspray can be removed.
If you buy the car, get a PPI, take your PPI report to them, and ask them to fix everything, they will extend the 5-day return period to after you get it back from CarMax service.

George...Plenty of Grey 997's out there with NO paintwork....
Nothing worse than a professional painter who doesn't take the time to tint his/her paint to match adjoining panels...that would be a huge red flag for me, but if the paint was done properly on a 11 year old car, I don't think it would bother me if it was a simple repair with no air bag deployment or rear end hit.

My 08 4S struck a fat raccoon at 30mph.... cracked the front cover, and needed a new one, and a 3 adjoining panel blend due to metallic slate grey... looks completely OEM as it was repaired correctly at a Porsche certified shop. Bothered me at first as it went under the knife, but my car and yours aren't show cars and worth a ton of money anymore, they will typically stall at $30k forever, so your already towards the bottom if purchasing now.

Good luck.
