Lightbulb Fender Well Intakes

My setup

k16/26
997 GT2 RS I/C's
650 cc ASNU Injectors
Decat Europipe exhaust
IPD PLenum and TB 84 mm

Would running fender intake system i.e cone filters above the intercoolers (without meth) raise my Intake Air Temps???

Best

Si

Difficult to say for sure. But I would say your temps will likely decrease or stay around the same.

Removing the restriction on the inlet side and providing easier access to ambient air, all while reducing time the air spends snaking around the enginr in the stock configuration, should result in pre-turbo temps that are closer to ambient.

That cooler air will still be compressed by a hot turbo, then cooled by the same intercoolers, so I'd say regardless of whether the temps go up or down, the difference will be negligible.

The good thing is... you WILL get better spool/response from the turbos and you WILL gain horsepower. This of course all assumes you are currrently running the aweful stock intake pipes.

Ah yes, good point.

I always assume people understand that fender intakes and MAFless goes hand in hand. But I'm sure that's not the case.

I had been running a soft inlet pipe setup I put together and it worked really well. I will be running the markski setup next as I scored one for 400 in the for sale section. The soft inlets are a good option for keeping IAT temps down and the paper air filters clean better than the cloth also. Fender intakes are more for 1000hp cars and such.

I'd argue anything done to reduce intake restriction is well worth it even on a car with mild mods. As restrictive as the stock setup is just going MAFless at stock boost you'll probably notice a difference.

what are you doing with the 3 hoses that go into the intake pipe?
1 from bottom of DV, 1 from oil tank and 1 that leads up the the #16 valve?

Anyone running filters on the turbos? If so, can you let me know the part number your running. I could probably measure it but would rather just buy it and know it will work.

Only for those that live in Sunny climates.

If you're using stock turbos.
