How much boost you got BauerR?
With stock turbos and waistgates you will hit 1.1 bar of boost max usually with k16´s. More boost and they spool to death. Thats about close to 500HP engine power.
So a 991.2 TTS got 580 HP stock. Tuned about 640 HP or something.
Conclusion:
There must be something wrong.
The k16 stock turbos are playthings. Compressorwheels are just 40,5mm "big". Thats tiny.
My reasoning is that he is capped by the stock fuel system so he can't be making more power than it will allow, which could probably be achieved with just tuning and exhaust. It's like he is claiming that he can fit 5 yards of material into a 4 yard box. He might be filling the box faster but he is still a 4 yard box. He spent over $4,000 to get a bit of power under the curve. With injectors and bigger turbos they will make a good difference, but with the current setup it is of limited impact.
With filters on the turbo tuning completely changes. It's a pretty big difference. When a K16 has to be eased off and makes 1.1-1.2 bar you know you have no pressure drop in front and little to no back-pressure! The car is just a runner.
On the SG race car we are making 1.5 bar of boost on my kit and K2468's with 45% duty cycles and it rips along in enduro races at about 750 crank! Just won the POC GT1 and over-all!
Rich, when we get the 5bar in there I am almost positive we will be all good and I will make sure it comes in smooth on tq and peak fuel consumption (I know you know that already ). I understand bigger turbo's and injectors are not for everyone especially when life gives you babies and other priorities! So we have a solution and R will continue to enjoy his car safely. We obviously will get it and looks like other priorities are lightening up finally

Sam said that 991's tuned and exhaust usually make between 510-530whp
I imagine I'm somewhere in that mix. Probably closer to lower side but I think 996s are lighter
That anyone denies that intake mods make a difference is amazing. You're removing FEET of intake hosing that's convoluted and twisted. Doubt that it's a restriction? Put a nipple on it in front of the turbos and do a pressure drop reading. Every last bit of pressure drop is power left on the table. The turbos will also almost certainly receive cooler air down low too vs the engine bay. This is one of the largest restrictions on these cars after the exhaust. I'd love to see a back to back test one day but as Sam has pointed out the tune changes a good bit for this so it ought to be crystal clear without numbers on a dyno.
Intercoolers? There's pressure drop there too and depending upon the volume swapping them WILL free up airflow. SRM sells two different sized end tank inlets\outlets on their intercoolers for a reason - larger pieces move more air but cool a little. Both tanks and cores flow better than the OEM stuff. The more air you move the bigger the difference, I don't know for sure at what level the OEM coolers are a restriction but looking at the tanks it's probably not hard to outflow them! If you want to know the pressure drop, same drill - put some nipples on and measure. I have little doubt it will be worse than aftermarket coolers and every bit of difference is power.
Lastly, the TB is a restriction too. Sean tested this and it's why I've got his plenum and a larger TB on my car. The plenum isn't the biggest difference the TB is. Again power level dictates when this becomes an issue and I did it however I see no sense to going to the jumbo TB anytime soon. It sure doesn't help to upgrade from the tiny one, at this power level it's probably not adding a ton but it all adds up - it's an end to end system...
You think stock intercoolers aren't a restriction? Seriously?
Who said anything about a Y-pipe?
When I had billets I made 583awhp with stock intercoolers. When I switched to the 3.5 intercoolers I made the same power. So yeah made no difference. People believe in what they write in the description on products but seeing the results is where you see the real numbers.
He has a y pipe also and again it gives you no hp.
Plenum and TB make a little difference but if he really has stock k16s then that's great in power.

I mentioned the intercoolers being a restriction and not knowing exactly where that point was but I'm surprised you saw zero difference. Sean tested and found differences in flow on different pipe sizes as well as temp differences - I didn't pull that from my *** nor did I simply read it off of an advertisement. Sean is a straight shooter and has told me a few places he's found power - and hasn't. The intercoolers should make power, particularly on the street where they won't be overcome with heat. Sean shared with me the temps he saw doing 1/4 runs after before he did them - the stock units are awful and timing was being pulled.
Likewise testing throttlebodies, he has a dyno in his shop to test on. He used it to test throttlebodies with his plenums, I don't think he claims a power gain with just a plenum. Sambo has also pointed out that his tune is showing a freeflowing intake and exhaust requiring him to reign in the K16s. Obviously something's different between his car and your's and he's told us what he's done.

I too look forward to some times and sheets!
Bunch of people including markski has mods with there stock k16 turbos 5 years ago lol before and after and saw very little power difference. I have done the same things never saw gains as advertised with 16g billets. Now I will see gains because of higher hp so I need bigger pipes, TB, manifolds, intercoolers and so on.
So go ahead and dyno before and after and see if u see 60hp gain on a Plenum lol. You would be the first.

This is going to be the last time I reply to you in this thread. Almost 100% of the time you're wrong and this post is no different. In fact, i wish you would avoid my posts all together.
I spoke to Markski last night and he said NONE oh his customers, past or present, have had my setup. So stop throwing around "this has been done before"...not to my level ...on stock K16s. He is also very curious to see what i run.

You don't have anything different then anyone else on here 5 years ago. You have intercoolers a y pipe and a plenum. You act like you have 80k worth of stuff. No one said anything about his customers I said he had those mods. Go and dyno your car like everyone else told you too a year ago.
Yeah I'm 100% wrong lol. Says the guy that's running High 12s afr wot. Heck you were running that last year 13s wot afr. You don't listen.
I'm guessing intercoolers give you 300 more hp.
Let's see plenum add 200 more hp.
So what makes your setup so different vs. everyone else that has done the same mods 5 years ago? You did 3 simple mods.
