Which one and where should I get it from?

 

I was thinking of buying the sport, also in for members advice

 

Just downloaded their app and you can run a demo. Sport seems like the way to go. Rather use my iPhone over the old version that they sell. Just not sure if you have to mount that external antenna or not. That would kind of suck.

I think with the older vbox it required antenna. If the other members give the thumbs up on the sport, i also agree it might be easier to view on my phone.

 

Hey guys. I have the standard vbox's mini everyone uses in stock if I can help. Comes with everything you need. No need for external antenna. That is for race cars with a different wired in box.

 

Pm price for the ones you have as well as the sport ones that run off an iPhone.

 

Check also the AIM SOLO , 10HZ too and great device for track use.

 

I bought the Sport,.. because I wanted the higher resolution (it takes location data twice as often,.. for more accuracy).

The Sport doesn't REQUIRE you to link it to a phone. I don't use mine with one. There's an SD card in the back that comes out, and you can view all the data on a computer.

No external antenna. It just mounts on the windshield like a radar detector. And doesn't even have a cord. Internal batteries. It's also water resistant,.. for use on motorcycles etc.

 

I have the Sport model which I bought from Sambo and I love it, no wires all over the dash to get in the way & it's pretty small & comes with a suction cup that mounts to the windshield ,it stays charged all day.I use it at the half mile events and speeds come in at the same trap speeds recorded by the event timers most of the time.It shows everything on your phone imediately after you're done with the race , before you even get back into the pits .The only issue i have with it is i like to use my iPhone to record video of my runs ,but it won't let you do that ,so i have to use a second iPhone that i have for the Vbox and the other one for video . I'll be using it again this weekend at shift sector here's a couple screenshots of the info you get .

 

I have the vBox sport too. Works great, and it's much smaller/easier to deal with than the full size one. 20hz GPS too.

 

Has anyone found a good android app for the Vbox Sport?

For all the reasons already stated above and one of the main reason is accuracy as well! It is 20Hz verses 10Hz. If it was the other way around and the big one sampled at 20Hz vs 10Hz, I under stand that people would deal with bulk of the old one for more accurate info. When the newer sleeker, more convenient etc is ALSO sample twice as fast the data .... well to me is a pretty clear winner.

Also you get a great interface (your I-phone ) that can pull up right after the runs all your data and compare and even graph everything without second apps etc....all right after your runs.

 

I just got mine. I can't run another "test" unless I reboot the app. Won't let me hit start again after each run. Any ideas? May call them tomorrow.
