If I'm not mistaken, the 997.2 TTS (918 Spyder edition) was a limited production vehicle sold along with actual 918 Sypders. There were 286 918 Spyders sold in the USA (2014-2016), so I think the number is 286 sold in the USA.

Appreciate the reply and info very much. There certainly can't be more than the number of 918s sold and some 918 buyers may not have opted for the Turbo S at time of purchase.

Thanx for reply. Porsche contact said "hold onto it and drive it"! I am taking it to the Uber Region Fest at Trissl Sports Cars in Florence, AL in May. They contacted me and seem to be interested in making me an offer. Would have to be more than I am expecting to sell it.

I remember reading that the 918 Edition Turbo S option had a near 100% take rate for 918 Spyder buyers. So if ~280 918s were sold int eh US, I'd imagine at least 200 of these special edition TTs are out there

I'm confused - OP said he owns a 2012 997.2 TTS Spyder, akunob said there were 286 918 TTS Spyder's sold between 2014 and 2016. The 997.2 was replaced by the 991 in 2014. I've never heard of a 2012 997.2 TTS Spyder. Looks like I need to do some research. Who's right?

The 997.2 TT 918 Edition cars were delivered in 2012/13, prior to the 918 Spyder deliveries. They went into production once an order deposit for the hypercar was placed

Interesting, did not know. BTW, great looking car! I'm definitely going to research them just for my own awareness. Thanks for the update!

I'd be interested to hear if anyone's done any market tracking on those. Are they selling for a big premium over a similarly equipped TTS? Are they even trading hands or are the original owners keeping them?

BBI had a 918 Edition Turbo S they have been using as a 997.2 development car. It's badass and I mentioned to Jerrod@BBI that I wanted to buy it but it's not for sale I don't have any picture but two race videos of it at the 2:30 mark in the vid below. This is arguably the fastest 1/2 mile 997.2 on the planet with a 173.2mph half mile trap speed from a built stroker 4 litre motor, built PDK, larger turbos and a dual-stage methanol injection system.

The black 997.2TTS Edition Spyder pictured above appears to be exactly like mine. Mine is Black Basalt Metallic. I also would love to know how the market values these cars. I started this string and really appreciate all the input.

Not to hijack OP's thread....but man, that is some serious a$$ kicking!!! About 20 races and you smoked 16/17 of the cars. It's crazy how well your car sticks to the ground. Many of the other racers seem to have issues launching. Love the TT doing what Porsche designed it to do. That's one of my favorite things about my TTS, the traction and the launch. Just press the pedal, point, and you're gone.

Thanks for sharing your races and it's awesome to see a P-car being pounded on during a full day of racing and not letting up.

Longboarder: video was fantastic. The only thing more impressive than speed is the unbelievable reliability of your machine! I feel like a true novice compared to most of you but am quickly becoming a Porsche fanatic.
