I'm tired of my standard issue 18 inch rims for my basic 997.1 C2. I'm thinking 19 inch; 20 may be to skinny on the rubber for me. Suggestions? I've seen HRE FF01 and CH-R BBS. Looks nice.

19"s are fine for the 997. Personally I think 20"s are too large on the car, and I would agree I think the rear tire is too skinny at that size, therefore not enough protection for the wheel. Personally I think 19"s are spot on for this car, take a look.
Here's a set of FlowForm FF01's in our IPA finish on this 997 C4S in 19" of course
Here's another 19" set of our R101 Wheels in Gloss White
Looks great! Can I keep the Porsche crest on those?
The FlowForm FF01 that I posted, the answer is yes, you can keep your factory Porsche center caps and use them on these wheels. In certain circumstances we can make a Forged wheel with a Porsche cap but it depends on the style and a few other variables. Ultimately though, even with some wheel styles which we cannot accommodate a factory cap, there are other ways of getting a Porsche logo on there if you really want it.
19' look just right! 20's are too large on these cars
Yup, I agree with Tarek - 19" is the right look on a 997 with 20s being too large.
I currently have these Champion RS171s For Sale that are custom polished and then clear powdercoated in a NB fitment. They're fully forged (not rotary forged, not flow-formed) super strong and very light. Ad is in the Marketplace with all the specs, more photos, etc.
I have 20 Techart on mine and they look great and I don't think too large. I didn't put them on the previous owner did but 19's may be a better fit overall.

I too don't think 20" is too large for 997.1 .2 P car...to me the ride quality wasn't any worst than 19". However there will be large fender gap if car isn't lowered.

Yup, to me, all of the ones with 20s (TechArt, Vossen, etc) look too big with virutally no sidewall and the 19s (like the HREs and GT3 wheels) look just right.
Also, there's no difference in fender gap with 19s vs 20s since the aspect ratio of the tire on the 20" wheel is lower since the rolling circumference of the tire, whether on a 19" or 20" wheel needs to be essentially the same.

Depends on the 20s, if they are 3pc stepped lip, they will look like a 19. Ive also had 20s and they drive just like a 19.
I have a set for sale currently and live in Torrance if interested. Ill make you a killer deal. They're 20's but due to the stepped lip, they look perfect on the car and include tires.
We are Signature Wheel Porsche Rep
Here are 19" SV104 and 20" SV302S for your reference.
Either size you can find right tires to fit properly, it is up to your preference
I am currently running 18s on my daily driver 997 with a nice fat tire, and love the feel on the road. I have run 19s also, and didnt have any issues.
I have never run 20s on the car, but happen to have a set coming up for sale soon. They are Champion RG5s in 997 narrow body fitment. Available with or without Pirelli Pzero tires.
I just dropped them off at the shop for a full refinish. Havent picked the color yet, but was thinking of going with a full matte black (lip and spokes.) Also considered gloss gold or matte gunmetal. If you happen to be interested in them, you can pick the color of refinish. They currently are silver with a polished lip
