Wondering what these might look like. I'm sure they are cheap but on the other hand might give the car a fun or unique feeling. Wondering what others think, worth it as an experiment or hideous terrible idea?
For $128 I thought I'd give it a shot. Says 30 days before I see them, coming from China. My experience says probably 45 days, but we'll see. I'll post pics when I get them.
I bought these cheap emblems off eBay.
Made in China.
I got what I paid for....
It did not surprise me...
I'm jus sayin...
The i fell off...lol
Then the m fell off...
It's a 911...give it the high quality, well made products it deserves...
Like I said for $128 it’s worth finding out. I requested black with red stitching and I already received confirmation they can do it as I requested. Now I just have to settle back for a month and wait. That’s the biggest cost of Chinese goods, the wait.
Ok the mats arrived today, earlier than I expected. I ordered them on 12/23 and they arrive 1/10, all the way from China. So far so good.
What I can't say is good is the package they came in:
I will say though that the bag is hard to open and it protected the mats fine. Once I did get it opened the contents were:
All form fitting and pretty nice. The "PVC leather" is what you'd expect, but it did look decent. The threadwork is great.
The mats have a good heft to them. I'm not exactly sure how to fasten them in the car. The have these odd rivet like things with a strange back peice:
No instructions came with the mats (of course) so I may end up having to fabricate my own method of installation if I can't get an answer from the seller. Still they look good installed (I test fit them over the existing Porsche rubber mats):
Overall for $128 coming from an unknown company I think they look pretty good for installing for Cars and Coffee or any other car show. They are form fitting and absolutely made specifically for the car. While I think they will wear well I'd get black stitching if I was going to buy them for daily use, just to prevent discoloring over time. I got red stitching (you can specify what you want when ordering) to go with the red seat belts and SC dial in the car. It really sets things off! I can't wait for the weather to be nicer to do the real installation.
Thanks for the followup. I agree they look good for $128. Those metal tabs look kinda weird, wondering if they are some sort of magnets of something? This has piqued my interest!
You are an adventurous sport for taking the dive and ordering them. I have to say though I really don’t like them. Don’t look right in a Pcar for me. But I don’t have to like them, you do.
Jury's out for me to be honest. I like the pleated look but I'm not sure it fits the Germanic styling in the 911. We'll see what it looks like come springtime. With the weather turning bad again I don't think I'll be able to try for awhile.
