Hello all,

I'm looking to see what is the meatiest tires I can put on my wife's 2012 Cayman R. The Stock wheels are 19" forged wheels but we have recently put 19" HRE FF01's. The wife hates the wheel gap and was looking to lessen that with thicker rear and front tires to replace OEM tire set up.

We're not looking to upgrade the current suspension as not sure if any aftermarket replacement would be an upgrade to the Cayman R suspension.

I know that you can a least get away with 295/30/19 on a 19x10.

Won't help with gap between tires and fender.

 

Well as you may know, the diameter of the tire is important for things like speedometer and PSM so you don't want to increase too much. I think increasing aspect ratio by 5
should be OK though as many have done that with no ill effects. This is assuming you are running stock sizes currently. So basically you would be putting 981 size tires on a 987.2 car.

Cayman R suspension is excellent and I wouldn't touch it as well!

 

I don't but I should mention that I also have KWv3's and my car is a 987.1

 

Thanks, Yes I don't know if we'll touch the suspension but definitely increase the meat in the tires to decrease that wheel well space
