Hi all
First post
I have had my 05 Cayenne turbo for about 6 months during that time it has had a few bits and bobs done mainly a remap and new Milltek exhaust fitted along with full service.
Now I think the time to sell, I want an 09 plate 957's 550 horsepower version so decided to get it dyno'ed so I know when selling the genuine power and not some prefabricated No.
So I was expecting great things, standard 450hp with 459lb-ft of torque with the remap I was told it would gain 50 bhp and 130 ish ft-lb
Well the result was NOT what I expected Max hp 444.2 max torque 640ft-lb at 3000rpm
When speaking to the engineer he basically explained that the turbos were causing heat soak around the intercoolers hence the result!
I guess with the intercoolers being plastic and all that is the problem so can they be replaced with 957 intercoolers?
Also, I notice the 09 957'S is only producing 553ft-lb and supposedly 550bhp so am I better off changing the intercoolers and keep what I have
Any ideas/thoughts welcome,

If you decide to keep it, I have the larger all metal intercooler from the Driver's side of my 99 957 Turbo S available for sale, so you'd only need to source the passenger side one (mine sold already). I installed the FVD ones as part of my widebody build.

Thanks for the offer, I am inclined to go for the 957 turbo S and dyno it straight away so I know where I am on the power side before tweaking.

The 957 Intercoolers will work... but the boost pipe Henn Coupling clip from the hot side inlet is slightly different. Also, some slight modification is necessary to make the IC body fit inside the 955 CTT bumper.

Thanks for the info, could i use the 957 pipework for hot side or is it totally different?

The 955 hot side turbo Henn Coupling needs to be retrofitted. Everything else from the 957 fits: Intercoolers, DVs, lower boost hoses. Just needs a Welded lip, to accommodate a V-band clamp to the hot-side pressure pipe connection.

Are you saying the actual dyno number was 444 at the wheels? That is probably about right as that would be right about 600 at the crank.

Yes and 640 ft lbs torque at the wheels.
Just been to see and drive a Gemballa cayenne genuine factory built 4.8 turbo with 650hp and 650 ft lbs at the wheels.
Turbos spooled up faster than my 4.5 so 0-60 bit quicker but once mine kicks in with the second surge from the turbos
they were about the same.
Great looking cayenne (Gemballa) massive disks back and front full panoramic roof that was it the body work had been neglected
so still looking for a replacement to mine.
