Went for a drive this weekend. Passing Lane Ahead -Slower traffic keep right.
Apparently there is no 'slower traffic' in California! Passed them all on the right. Was like this the whole trip. Coming back north - 4 lanes - and I'm having to go to the far right lane to get through traffic.
In traffic in LA on the PCH and some idiot behind me is making a U-turn in the middle of the freeway.
It simply amazes me how bad drivers have gotten on the west coast. In Oregon and Washington people set their cruise controls and use the left lane as the travel lane. To make matters worse, they set the cruise control to the posted speed limit and back travel up for miles. As I digress - how about the ones that enter the freeway at 35 mph.

I have no children., is drivers ed still taught?

Amen to that. There are so many frustrating things with passive and indifferent drivers in WA.

I see this all the time, it's like they don't have a "plan B". They can't figure out to keep going until there's a logical place to turn around. Idiots.
It's not just the west coast. It is everywhere in North America.
North American drivers have no lane discipline, never mind most have no situational awareness as their focus point is about half a car length in front of their hood...
It's a good thing our speed limits are generally lower than some other parts of the world.
its all the Uber drivers messing things up in Chicago (you can tell because they all have the uber airport sticker on their vehicle), what could go wrong when you add like 50 thousand cars who don't ever drive in the city and make them stare at their spotty GPS screens to pick up and take people to random spots? Traffic here is a complete mess and its become exponentially worse in the last 2-3 years
There's a stretch on a certain highway near me (I-294 southbound from I-55 to the 95th street toll plaza), where you can count on the right lane being completely empty, the second right-most lane having only a few cars and trucks, and the left-most two lanes being PACKED. I anticipate it, now, and get to the right before it happens so I can just cruise past all the morons.
People have become indoctrinated to believe that being on the left means you'll go faster... so they mindlessly get to the left, not realizing that doing so causes them all to slow down. We live in a society of lemmings.

Only a few things like about Germany... Autobahns and the effort it takes to get a drivers license... it's costly and quite difficult, (last time I checked) and makes for a bit better driving experience...
here in Florida, you can get a ticket for slow travel in the left hand lane and a local sheriff video of citing a driver for slow travel in left lane went viral

Illinois and Indiana have similar laws, but they're rarely enforced. And when they are, the stories go viral, and the public comments are that the police should be pulling over the people who are trying to speed. "If I'm going the speed limit in the left lane, I shouldn't have to move over for someone wanting to speed!" :::sigh:::
I keep this sign in my Aston for this very occurrence which those in said lane typically read as I pass them on the inside. Most laugh, one idiot in a BMW 435 thought it was an invitation to race him so he sped up and tried to cut in. He didn't make it.
Edit - I have to add that texting has increased the occurrence substantially. The complete moron who thinks if I put it on cruise at or near the speed limit in the fast lane with a 1/4 mile gap to the car ahead, while I write a novel on my phone is typically when the sign comes out.

Where I live - with a sign like that, I would be concerned the other driver packing heat and getting distracted.
