Oh yes, this one is too obvious to pay attention to it

 

My understanding is the flashing tools are locked to the vehicle VAP programs them for and are not 'universal'.
I've got a flashing tool locked to a white V8 Vantage I do not own - it came with the exhaust system I purchased - and VAP confirmed it would not work with my V8V.
