Are you ready for the premium? However, it did do 8 seconds faster than the base on the ring

lol, whoever is going to pay money to pay $25k over for a GT-R has more money than brains when $5k deals are pretty common for allocations you can still spec for the first model year.

But hey, who am I to tell someone not to **** away $25k plus a finders fee.

Let me know the specific dealer where you can get a R35 GTR for $5k over for June delivery. Maybe you'll get a finders fee.

I didn't mention a June delivery (not that any dealer is getting a car in June, first allocations come in July) but I did mention being able to spec your car to your choice and get it in the first model year. I personally don't keep track of all those threads since it's irrelavent to me but you'll find said dealerships on nagtroc.org.

So now when you say why someone would pay $25k over versus $5k over you know the difference = time.

Hmm, I guess you have a hard time reading my replies but I didn't ask "why" at all, I stated they have more money than brains. But hey, I hope you find a buyer for the $25k, really, just make sure they know it won't come in June so they aren't pissed because you gave them misinformation.

Misunderstanding I guess.

Your initial statement was comparing apples with oranges.

I was just helping you understand why someone would pay a $25k markup over a $5k markup. Those people do so, because being first on the block with a new toy is worth the markup, and/or they don't want to wait longer than June for their car. Also, the market will dictate a feasible markup.

Isnt nissan like really strict about mods, i heard that even changing the spoiler or wheels will void that warranty. That means Those HPF M3s will take it for a run and theres nothing the gtr owner can do to make it faster

Sorry... Was going back to see the silly comments about resale value, and stumbled across this gem.

Oh, the amazing foresight on this forum.

Was anyone actually foolish enough to pay 25k over MSRP? 5K is too much, IMO.

My guess is, people who had the money, and wanted one. So for them, it wasn't foolish. Regardless - I realized the same ignorance that existed before the car came out in North America, exists today, over 3 1/2 years later.

This is a super old post! Almost 4 years old.

Personally, I would have a very hard time paying over MSRP for anything. I do understand that plenty of people can afford to and are willing to do it to be the first on the block, etc... not me.

I had a relative who was the finance manager at a prominent BMW dealer. Someone leased a then brand new 2001 E46 M3 for 10K down and $1100 a month for 4 years. They got one of the very first ones but their total down and lease payments amounted to 20% more than the MSRP on the car. Of course at the end of the lease they would need to buy it or return it.
