As some of you know, I am in the market for a 996 Turbo. Here is my friend, Mike's 996 Turbo for sale. As per my 'Want to buy' thread, this listing is over my budget, but is worth the cost to someone who can afford it in my opinion.

Mike is selling his car and I’m helping him out. This car has 8,8xx miles and the information is listed as follows:

2001 996 Turbo, Lapis Blue over Black full leather, including: dash, door panels, interior trim, etc.

-6-speed manual.

-8,900 miles

-Nicely optioned including supple leather seating surfaces front and rear, Porsche crests embossed in headrests, memory + heated seats, brushed aluminum doors sill guards, aluminum look center/rear console, aluminum & leather shifter/brake lever handles, 6-disc CD changer, etc.

-Second owner, Mike has owned this 911 since 2002. Always kept in climate controlled garaged, never parked outdoors, and never driven in rain.

-Pristine condition, no accidents, and no stories. This is simply one of the best condition Turbos on the market.

-Completely original, totally stock, and never messed with. This Turbo is fanatically maintained beyond factory specifications.

-All keys, books, records and service documentation throughout vehicle's history.


Some additional information about the car...

Mike purchased the car exclusively as a weekend driver. He lives just off Mulholland Drive in LA and the Porsche seemed like an ideal car for this environment. He collects old Mercedes models but wanted something quite different with performance characteristics not available from MB. This is obviously not a daily driver. It's more of an every every other weekend driver!

He made sure the car never sat for more than 3 weeks or so without being taken out for a run. The typical trips averaged between 20-50 miles and he was careful to bring the car up to full operating temps every drive. There were also several longer distance trips to Santa Barbara and San Diego as well. The car was never used for commuting or running errands or anything like that.

The car has never had any mechanical issues. All care and maintenance has been performed by Porsche service, specifically Pacific Porsche in Torrance for the past 7 years.

Is the car still wearing the original tires or have they been replaced (specs, date, miles)? Any maintenance done based on age as opposed to miles (fluids, etc.)? Thanks.
