ERP/RPS Triple Carbon Clutch Review/Install Pics

I do not know if Carry's website is still up, what concerns you?
Really nothing to worry about, many members here use the things now and it is a clutch that just works brilliantly. If you need his personal work number that can be done. The clutchs are sold under the RPS label mainly as ERP is more of a whole sale outfit but they do some of there own brand stuff.

Hi guys,
I got my car back today and it has the triple ERP clutch with steel flywheel. Installation went smooth, but we have a very high engament point - like the last half inch of the pedal way. It grabs very well and together with the non-existing modulation it is really hard to drive.
Do you have any hint what to look for first in order to get this problem solved?
No GT2 mod, but the slave cylinder + accumulator has been replaced as well.

So where is the engagement point with the GT2 mod and how wide is it actually?
Using my setup the engagement point is nearly at the end of the pedal movement and once you get used to that, it feels like you only have a few mm available before it grabs.

engagement is different for every car. what the issue is that you can't feel when the clutch is actually engaging on the oem setup due to the slave being assisted by the p/s pump. so you end up slipping the clutch unintentionally. on the gt2 setup you feel the engagement as soon as the clutch starts to grab. doesn't matter if the engagement is at the bottom of the pedal or at the top

I think the high engagement point along with a narrow window is normal for the this clutch whether you have the GT2 slave mod or not. A friend just installed this clutch on his car along with the Evoms GT2 conversion and his main complaint was that the clutch engages at the very top of the pedal along with a very short engagement point.

Thanks for the feedback. I will drive the car or a few days and try to get used to it, but my first impression was that this setup is totally unusable in this configuration. This is a 0/1 clutch at the moment and I can't remember looking and feeling so much like an idiot as when I tried to get this car moving for the first time.
The new engine is very responsive and the clutch along with the SS FW makes it quite an adventure to get the car moving. I was so happy that I had no traffic jam on my way back home

Here is a video of how much you can slip this clutch.

Try some hard launches in 2nd gear to bed in the plates. This clutch is all carbon you can slip the **** out of it. If you over heat the clutch it will not let you in to gear so wait a few minutes and all will be fine.

I'm getting more used to it, too.

My ERP clutch was just rebuilt to brand new specs and is for sale. (Weighs 21lbs with the LWFW) It's on it's way back at the moment. I had to do a quick swap for TI and I won't be needing it any longer.

Tim can you tell me why the erp c/f clutch can be slipped so much yet the ats/carbonetics is very specific to NOT slip the clutch or risk damaging the plates? I have the ats/carbonetics and it's a light switch. Tough in traffic but was hoping it would ease up over time. Only 800 miles or so on it

Check your tranny and engine mounts. If they are worn it will give you the judder.
