FS: 2004 996 GT3 one-of-a-kind Minerva Blue
FS: 2004 996 GT3 one-of-a-kind Minerva Blue
I've been going back and forth on this for quite some time, but it's time to move on. Selling my 2004 996GT3, 26.7k miles, $68k.
This is the only known example of a GT3 in Minerva Blue, special ordered by the original owner, Otis Chandler.
Paint-to-sample in Minerva Blue metallic, natural brown full leather interior, painted dash trim strip & air vents, cruise control are the only factory options which brought the original sticker to $115,895.
Second owner was (former?) Rennlist/6speed member CodeRed, who owned the car from ~2k miles to 14k miles.
Aftermarket options include:
Euro GT3 driver's seat in Natural brown leather
Schroth 6-pt harness(blue)
Safecraft fire ext. w/Brey Krause bracket mounted to driver's seat
Tequipment roll bar w/cross brace
RS gear shifter & handbrake lever in alcantara w/blue stitching
Alcantara visors
Lower center console painted in Minerva Blue
Radio surround (horseshoe), ignition surround painted in Minerva Blue
Motorsport brake ducts & front lip spoiler
V1 hardwired w/connection at passenger side visor area
Clear bra installed on 1/2 hood, front bumper, 4 fender arches, rocker panels, both mirrors.
Carbon fiber front strut brace
CD storage/console delete
There may be some other small stuff, but that's all I can think of right now.
No dents or door dings. Exterior is in excellent condition with the exception of a couple of minor scratches that have been touched up, and a couple of rock chips that penetrated the clear bra. Front lip spoiler is gouged up from driveways but will be replaced in the next couple of weeks.
Mechanically, running perfect needs nothing. Brake pads/rotors are at ~60%, MPSC are at ~75%. All maintenance up to date, have all records. No stories on this car. Maintenance while I owned the car was all performed at Carlsen Porsche and TC Design in Milpitas. CodeRed had most of work done by Lucent Motors while he owned it.
I've done two low-key track days in 2 1/2 years (none in the last two years) which may give you an idea of why it's for sale. CodeRed did track the car, but it was advertised on Rennlist as having no off-track-excursions before I bought it...maybe some of the SoCal people can verify that he was a meticulous owner.
Please note that due to many joy-ride-seekers that I encountered when selling my 993S four years ago, I will not be giving out any test drives unless you & I have come to some sort of agreement on a sale dependent upon passing PPI, and the PPI has been completed. If you need to decide whether a GT3 in general is the right car for you, you need to get your test drive at a dealership somewhere, sorry.
Hopefully, this car will go so someone in the RL/6speed community who can appreciate its history, and put it to its intended use in the future.

Yes the car is still for sale.
I didn't install the passenger euro seat because my wife hates those seats...looking back now I should have just gotten the pair since she rarely rides with me, plus the fact that it's going to be tough to sell driver's side only if I take it out.
