FS: 2003 porsche 996tt RUF
FS: 2003 porsche 996tt RUF
my car is for sale. $125k . 6 speed , RUF 550, ruf coilover, plus so much more, less then 6k miles, for more info and pics.. lowyboys@aol.com. (no bargin hunters)
What exactly is included in the Ruf 550 package?
Have you had the car dyno'd to confirm it is making the power you expected?
Where was the package installed?
How was it tuned?
What octane rating was it tuned for? I find that many European tuners program the PCM for 93 Octane, making your car not really appealing to most of people living in the US that can only consistently access 91 Octane. If this is the case, are you willing to get the car re-tuned for 91 Octane pre-sale?
What size HRE wheels are tires did they install?
I am interested as you can tell, but I do agree with some of the other people that $125k may be a little too high.
Add up the price on all the mods you have done (parts only; labor usually doesn't count), and then take about 20% of it and add it to the regular price of a 2003 TT coupe. That should give you an idea of a selling price to consumers. Most dealers will probably offer you below the price of a regular 996TT coupe because the car was modified and the warranties will be voided on the engine and drive-train.
I went through the same thing when I sold my highly modified Slate 996TT about a year ago. It had 600hp, Techart goodies, a $15k stereo, and many other add-ons. It also had an MSRP of $157k.

His car is a RUF. It is worth every penny and more. Ruf cars are famous for underestimating power #'s. This car probably has 600 hp. ++
It is not a mishmash of tuner "goodies" it is the real deal.
Good luck w/your sale, this a package I had considered 2 years ago when I bought my TT.

Ruf Vin?
Ruf Vin makes a world of difference. If the car is truly a Ruf with integrated roll cage and other goodies all created from a raw tub as are all Ruf VIN vehicles this is a great deal. If it is simply a Porsche converted to some undefined state of "RUF" that is an entirely different story.
Is the vehicle offered truly a Ruf VIN machine?
Cheers

No, I found out that it is not a RUF VIN. Just a 996TT upgraded with the RUF 550 package and a host of other Ruf goodies. I agree that RUF may hold slightly better value than an EVOMS or ImagineAuto car, but keep in mind that RUF is in Germany and uses their own PCM tuning program. Everyone there speaks German which can be a language barrier if you have any issues down the road. Personally, the fact that EVOMS and Imagine Auto are USA companies with great customer service and support may be more valuable to most people than the brand recognition of a Ruf system.

Also, rumor has it that RUF's customer service puts all others to shame. I know there has been some talk about it on this forum and I have not read or heard of anyone having anything less than an outstanding experience when dealing with them.
