30th Anniversary M5

I just recently locked up one of the 29 spots for the 30th Anniversary M5!

I just put the order into the dealership.

Trying to decide whether to keep it or sell at a premium.

Thoughts?

Email me at stevenjmenna@me.com if interested

Do you want the car or not? I've never been a fan of people selling a slot for a car, but to each his own.

Out of curiosity, did the dealer commit to sell at msrp?

My thinking is that with the regular M5 selling at a massive discount to MSRP and really struggling in the market, I would be very hesitant about assuming there will be a premium for this version...but good for you for locking one down.

Agreed.

We will have to see. I have always been a big M5 supporter/owner and will certainly appreciate the car if I decide to keep it. I currently have an M6 GranCoupe with Competition pkg and love it so I really dont need it but would be very cool to have the M5 in the garage.

Either way it will be interesting.

M5 and M6 etc are one of the fastest depreciating vehicles. After 3 years they loose 80% of there value. Owning a 2013 640i Gran Coupe that is less then 2 years old (I bought it in August 2012) and has 13000 miles on it and had an MSRP of $103K I can't even get $70K for the car today.

Yeah...just one of those things one has to deal with. I prefer to lease rather than own these cars either way. Would never own one outside of warranty.

80% really? By that theory an f12 m6 can be had for 25k next year, PLEASE let me know where I can get one.

As for my msrp question, my local stealer is notorious for mark ups and pulling all kinds of nonsense even with repeat customers, so I was curious given there's only 29 of these coming. Supposedly the first i8 was sold for 50 over, first f80 m3 for 20 over at this dealer, ludicrous.

Can't use the term investor with a depreciating asset. Speculator - yes. Investor - no. Enthusiast - maybe.

The operative word here being 'supposedly'. Do you usually believe everything your dealer sales department tells you?

Don't see the point of your post other than displaying your own boredom. In this case, yes, as the source has absolutely zero incentive to tell me otherwise considering he knows I have no interest in an i8 and will never pay a cent over msrp for any car. Additionally, said dealer is in Marin, so yes I believe him, plenty of clowns around here who need to be the first ones with a new car and willing to burn money to get it.

I stand corrected in that case. Apologies.
