excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't this car fall into the older than 25yrs old category? it was my understanding that cars not available in the US market could be legally registered after 25yrs. or is that not right?

The ad mentions Canepa modified the speedo and suspension. Did Canepa also perform the engine upgrades they offer for this car?

Everything else remained stock except for the S upgraded suspension. According to the owner, even registration as a historic won't get around SMOG regulations.

Bruce Canepa can legalize it with his conversion/DOT program.

I believe this is correct, but requires major modification to the exhaust. This owner didn't want to change the car that much from original. This is a super rare car with low miles as well as being a 2 owner. This isn't something you find typically. Gooding and Co just auctioned one off in Amelia island that was estimated to sell for 1.2 million. Had multiple owners and was not in as good of condition as this one.
