Make: BMW
Model: M3
Price: $25000
Mileage: 172000
Color: Red
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing

I am selling my 1997 BMW E36 M3. It has been a great car for me and was a daily driver for almost a year. It has a 2002 LS6 swap with a Camaro T56. This car is just about perfect in every way. Everything works, interior is great, paint is quite good, and everything has been upgraded or replaced. Gets great gas mileage actually and is very easy to drive, makes an amazing daily driver! There is 172k miles on the chassis, but every single suspension part has been replaced, and the engine was practically rebuilt before it was installed. Here is a mod list:

Subframe and headers are Samberg pieces
Swap is entirely OBD2 emissions compliant - this is the ONLY e36 I know of that is obd2 compliant - you'll be able to register this car in any non CARB state without issue.
Every part of the car works - from AC to all dash lights and other systems, the swap is 100% complete

Performance:
02 LS6 swap
243 cylinder heads mildly worked over
EPS 226/230 .598/.609 112lsa+2 cam
TEA dual .660 max lift valve springs w/titanium retainers & hardened pushrods
LS6 PCV system
LS6 intake
36lb injectors (42lb @ ls1 rail pressure)
underdrive pulley
2.5 exhaust off headers through spun cats to center spintec muffler to 3" custom exhaust with Magnaflow in the back - it sounds great and is never raspy or loud in the cabin.
LS7 clutch
All aluminum e36 radiator
Double line locks (to retain ABS but allow normal line lock function)
LS3 oil pump
LS3 timing chain
LS7 lifters
Brand new MSD plug wires, Coils and spark plugs
Lightly ported MAF & throttle body
Dynos roughly 380 to the wheels on a conservative dyno

Chassis:
3.91 LSD rear end
Koni yellows - on-car adjustables front & rear
Ground Control complete springs - 425f/425r spring rates
Ground Control rear upper shock mounts
Swapped 96+ stock m3 upper hats (-3.25 camber)
UUC swaybarbarian front sway bar
New factory m3 front lower control arms and bushings
Powerflex lollipops
New front sway bar endlinks
e46 rtabs with delrin limiters
Turner Motorsport Rear rubber version camber arms
All bushings in rear end were replaced with new after swap
Rear subframe bushings are Powerflex with larger rear washers (to combat documented cupping problem)
Diff mounts are AKG 75D delrin - with heavy duty front diff bolt
Rear subframe has been reinforced in the normal areas - including sway bar mounting points
Bimerworld front undertray
Clutch master cylinder is a Wilwood 13/16" with custom mount (to balance the ls7 clutch pedal feel)
17x8.5 Kosei K1s
Michelin Pilot Super Sports 245/40r17
Proper offset spacers on front for square setup clearance
ECS Tuning CSL big brake upgrade for front brakes, new rotors front and back with Hawk HPS pads
Bronze brake slider pin bushings
Complete brand new OEM front fender liners and fasteners

Interior:
Non-sunroof car - very rare
Black vader fronts
Euro e36 m3 3 spoke steering wheel with new factory clock spring
18 button OBC - no dead pixels
Kenwood kdc-x994 reciever w/bluetooth, USB & mic wired
Pair of Schroth 4 point e36 clip-in harnesses
Autodim rearview mirror from 7 series
Pre-wired for Valentine One
Brand new M3 stitch shift and E-brake boots
Brand new BMW floor mats
Complete Bavsound Stage 1 speaker system
Brand new headliner and pillars wrapped

Swap specific parts:
Relocated ABS pump
AN power steering pressure hose
3" aluminum driveshaft with rear adapter to BMW rear end
Custom AC lines to mate bmw components to LS compressor
Solid steering shaft with sound deadener wrapping
Relocated heater valve
Complete wiring integration with computer in stock bmw location
Volvo pusher fan in stock aux location
Corvette fpr/fuel filter & AN6 fuel feed with fire shield
GM fuel tank pressure sensor

This is an extremely fun car on the street or track. It is actually quite light and has so much feel when driving it, something missing from most modern cars, even BMW's. It will run 12.4@116 all day long on street tires, just to give you an idea of how quick it is. Drag radials would be even quicker as evident by the mph.

I am sure there is even more than this I am forgetting. Lots of brand new maintenance parts recently done as well; alternator, water pump, battery, etc.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or to set up a time to come see it.

I knew this looked familiar, I had previously read this build. I think this has had multiple buyers since the swap, looks like the original builder had trouble selling it for 15k years back. Looks like a well sorted swap though good luck with your sale.

Sorry guys for taking so long to reply on here, lots of travel lately.

Yes this was Tongboy's car from awhile back, he did a great job with it. As far as price, first off, I think the $15k was just a good deal. Secondly, I have done a lot with the car.

It got almost a complete repaint to fix the clear coat that was almost all gone when I got it, plus the very badly rock chipped front. The headliner was sagging, all speakers were blown, the engine would barely run because of a bad tune, and many bushings needed replacing.

The front bumper was missing fasteners and mounted badly, the front fender liners were shot, the engine needed some new gaskets, I know there is more.

Here is some of what I did, again I know I am forgetting some:

-Dyno tuned the car (380whp conservatively)
-Michelin PSS 245/40/17 added
-TMS Rear Rubber version Camber Arms
-ECS Tuning BBK, Rotors, Hawk Pads
-Pre-Wired Valentine One
-New M3 Stitch Shift and E-Brake boots
-Added Bavarian Soundwerks Stage 1 Speaker Kit
-New Headliner
-Pillars wrapped and fixed as well
-Nearly a complete repaint to fix the clear coat issues it originally had
-Replaced several bushings with upgrade and brand new front A-arms
-Front bumper fasteners were replaced
-Front Fender Liners replaced
-Engine needed various gaskets
