This muffler set really does everything so well, completely civilized while cruising with an exotic Porsche GT3-esque tonal quality under full load. They are perfect for those more concerned with a quality Porsche flat 6 sound rather than just an increase in decibels. This is the perfect addition for a cabriolet, for those concerned about drone, or for those interested in a quality flat 6 exhaust note without drawing to much attention.

Features:
+ 5 HP & + 2 TQ
2 ½ (63.5 mm) diameter tubing (reduces thermal stress)
Weighs 33 lbs. (15 Kg)
German V2A - X5CrNi18-10 - 1.4301 (T 304 L) stainless steel for improved durability
Factory Stamped to compensate for drone
Made in Germany by M&M Exhaust, GmbH
Intoxicating GT3 sounds at wide open throttle
Requires 3.8 L S Model exhaust tips due to larger diameter*

*3.6 L models require 3.8 L exhaust tips or BES99726000S

Our Brombacher Edition 997.2 sport muffler varies greatly from designs that are common in the aftermarket. Our muffler is uniquely made from T316 motorsport lightweight grade stainless steel, with double perforated sound absorption tubes based on the Halbgegenstromprinzip (half counter current principle). The acoustic silencer absorption tubes are made in a trapezoidal pattern and are perforated with varying diameters. This design isolates and dampens the unwanted frequencies that create drone. Perforated tubes also create much less flow restriction than baffle plates at higher gas velocities, and consequently translates into performance gains throughout the entire rev range with better throttle response.

The resulting sound exhibited is a sonorous factory GT3 sound in the mid-range and top of the rpm band. This sound is not a coincidence as our entire “Brombacher” line of exhausts is manufactured by M&M Exhaust, GmbH in Germany. They manufacture a multitude of Porsche Motorsport and Racing Exhausts. Each system is tested comprehensively for flow characteristics / rate, thermal stress, cracking, and longevity. Whether you are looking for the perfect street exhaust or one that can handle abuse at the track, look no further. Not to mention, the FVD brand offers you far more exclusivity than a dealer recommended exhaust or the offerings from most tuners. Stand out at your next track or coffee meet and watch the looks of envy when your friends hear this exhaust.

Please note: This muffler set is for cars with the standard exhaust (without the Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE). They are not C.A.R.B. certified (California) nor are they TÜV approved or EPA certified.

Can't believe no one has snatched these up - they're awesome. I had a set on my 997.1 installed by the PO. The only reason I removed and sold them was because my car had the PSE option from the Factory and I wanted mufflers that would have that feature.

I spent a few minutes polishing them up and they looked just like brand new, and mine probably had more miles on them than these do. The quality of the metal and construction are first rate.

I should add a 997.2 just so I can buy these.

I don't get it either. Must not be muffler season.

Interested in this set but too new here to PM.

How's the sound compare to factory PSE? I've driven a few with PSE and seems like it's enough when the valves are open. Based on your description, drone at cruising is not an issue - did you have these installed with any other exhaust components?

Have watched the videos on YouTube but would like to hear from firsthand account.

Thank you!
