for the past few days at exactly 11pm PST, this site chokes for about 10 mins. it just did it again tonite.

 

agghh! it's doing it again. it took me 30 mins to be able to make this post. =(

 

It's on and off for me...2 hours ago, it was very shaky, but now it's fast again..

 

It is intermittent but it is better than last week.

I would guess it was a DNS attack last week from which there arew still remnants.

I have seen this on a few other sites.

If I were paying to advertise I would not be happy!

 

I think you should log in at 11:10 every night to avoid the problem.

It took me 4 hours to type this.....

 

I asked in the 996 forum just after they switched servers abut three weeks ago if people thought it was running slow, and didn't get much of a response. It's been awful though.

Maybe if some of you sponsors would complain they would pay attention. I'm about ready to start spending all my time over at Rennlist. Different crowd but the response times are reasonable.

I did call them up today...one person said they were done with the upgrades and another told me the upgrades were almost done. Either way, I hope the speed picks up sooner rather than later.

 

it's very slow today. the only thing that's consistently fast to come up is that animated ad banner on the top. hmmm...

 

It's not DNS related, it is definitely something with the site code and how the page elements are loading.
I see it hanging either at loading the ad content or loading the forum content. Don't the site developers QA and load test changes in a test environment before going live?

 

LOL- I Could not submit a post just now, it kept giving me an error prompt when i hit "submit". I then clicked "go advanced" and got a database error page! Finally it let me post. Nice!!

 

Yep... I'm not even trying again for a week or so... if we all go away for a week I bet they find a way to make it run well again
