Due to the recent rockslide and concerns about the rock face stability the Tn. governor has closed 129 from the Foothills parkway to the state line. A bunch of businesses that cater to the ToD crowd are gonna be hurt bad.

The Dragon is open 8 AM to 8 PM, but only approahable from the NC side. 129 remains closed from Foothills parkway toTabcat bridge. THP is keeping 2 radar units on the road when open. Was there last weekend and it was really good (once you know where THP is setup) because traffic volume is down in the morning. Still have all the other good roads to have fun on.

 

I come in from Gatlinburg via the Foothills. Will I have to go a long way round to enter it from the other side?Thanks.

 

Come down 441S from G'burg and pickup 19W in Cherokee then 28 to Deals Gap.
