30-Pin to USB 2.0 Cable for iPod ?? (opposite of regular ipod cable)

Is there a cable available that will fit on the 30-pin side of an ipod cable and has a regular USB receptable on the other end?

I have ipod integration with the stereo in my car. Only problem is that I'm unable to play music or view files from a USB drive (useful for firmware updates etc) as the receptacle side is the 30 pin ipod connector.

If there is some sort of adapter that will will fit on the 30 pin part of the ipod cable and convert it back to USB on the other side, it would solve a lot of problems.

Thanks, but this one looks like a regular ipod cable. I'm beginning to think there's not a cable like what I'm looking for ...

I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for, but search for a female to female USB adapter. You should be able to use that at the end of your cable and get what you need...

Hi - With the system in my car I have an Ipod hookup in my center console. What I'm trying to figure out is if I can convert the Ipod hookup to USB via some sort of adapter. This would allow me to use USB devices with my existing ipod hook-up cable.

It will not work !

the iPod 30-pin cable is used by most car interfaces for UART communications, with analog audio out of the iPod; Most vehicle iPod kits do not support USB communications, mounting or streaming.

Which iPod interface / Vehicle are you referring to ?
