i believe on a 02 i was able to clear the maint. light, so it's hard to believe that on a 06 you'd need to take it to the dealer!! Anyways what the hell do i know??

dont know if this will help since I dont have a 997 but its worth a try. press and hold the odometer trip button in and turn the ignition to acc.. the maintenance light should blink and once it does release the button- *should* reset it.. this works on a lot of other cars but can not confirm if it works on a 997. let me know how it goes
