There are a couple of bolts that hold the mufflers in place that I'm trying to remove, but there isn't enough clearance above them to pull them out. There's silver shielding about 3/4" above them, so I can't seem to find a way to pull the bolts out far enough to slide the mufflers out. Any ideas???

 

Just an FYI for future DIYers, remove the three horizontal bolts on the plate, vs the two long vertical bolts holding the muffler onto the plate. #16 off of #28, instead of #s 24 & 25.

 

u must unbolt bracket 23 from 17 and take muffler and bracket out as one unit. then attach the bracket to the new mufflers and install
