check engine light

the car is missing bad, they told me a hose maybe off but can not find one that was off, I was running the car hard

what does the, "missing bad" mean? that the car isnt running properly? i recently had a new hose replaced in my mark viii, idles a lot better. it had a big gash in the hose and was turning off while idling.
