Race? You dont seem to have been on track before. You wont be doing any racing anytime soon. But DE (driving education, driving events) you can do, and yes you would be on the track with everyone else. Unlike the drag strip, hp is a much smaller factor is who goes the fastest.

If and when you do compete, you'll just be classed based on your hp. But the high hp guys are FASSSSSSTT.

Indeed. Go to a DE looking to improve your skills: smoothness, turn-in, using all of the track, getting a good line down, etc. HP doesn't matter much. With my 360hp S4 Avant I was often passed by a number of instructors running 120hp Audi Coupes simply because they were better drivers. Momentum counts for a lot on smaller tracks in particular.

Haha... you can be a space shuttle, with PCA you'll be in green with the rest of the novices (including me... first event in a month)!

Driver skill is more important than the car when it comes to a road course. I have tracked twice and although I have good natural ability....and some serious cars I will probably run beginner group one more time before I move up to blue.

I am doing TWS for the second time on March 23rd and running beginner....that track, in a 700 rwhp GT2 WILL kill you.

By the way, any of you track Junkies ever do:

Is this course any good? I was thinking of running my G35 on it for ****s and giggles.

If your a novice I would not track your nice 996 TT. Unless you have a couple P in your garage... Also, leave your bhp ego home, you be smoking exhaust all day.. plus you make boxsters and 944 happy.
