964 or 993 for auto-x

964 or 993 for auto-x
Thinking about an auto-cross car. What would you guys build (has to be streetable) in either a 993 or 964 without spending a fortune? What year/model of each would be best?

I've autocrossed my 993 a few times (Subaru is main auto-x car), and it did OK. It's more of a track car, it's not the best car for hitting tight slaloms.
My dad autocrossed a few times with his 964 YEARS ago, and had the same results. A local guy has a 914 with a V8 swap, and it is an amazing autocross car.
