If you have a cam mount, use that as well. Watching the vids will be help you visualize your lines and get you familarize with the track faster, especially if it's a new track to you. I usually watch it after a session to review what I need to work on before the next session...not to mention you can impress your friends on your high end home theate system

No camera or mount right now, but I'll look into it. I have a cab so I'm not sure there is any great way to mount one in my car.

Sorry to hear, Wish I was able to attend this event, Hang in there.. you find out that allot of your street toys do not work well at a track. My friend owns that silver Elise in the picture. He blew a fuse in the first half hour, Could not find the bad wire and left to head home after paying for both days + hotel. My car was flat bedded all the way from Sebring to west Palm when I blew my Clutch and Tranny. I still will never give this **** up though See you at the track, and get that stereo **** out of there. Or rig up quick disconnects

It is amazing how much there is to learn on the race track. I'm glad you had a good time. It sounds like the group you are running with are some good people and they took care of you. This is what I love about the track. Lots of good people willing to help each other out.

Sorry to hear about the brakes. As you have seen, its always a good idea to leave a little cushion and I'm sure your instructor was doing just that. Which is awesome.

Take care, and happy motoring.

Trevor

Ironically, I went out for round two at Sebring today. Great time! Amazingly enough, brake failure again!!! Pads this time. Luckily, it was the 7th or so lap during my last session so I didn't really miss anything.

I got the brake pad wear indicator warning on the dash, shortly after that... pedal straight to the floor. Again I just scrubbed off some speed to cool them down and coasted back to the pits. Luckily I had plenty of brakes to get home once they cooled off.

These DE's are costing me a fortune in parts Now it's time to start brake pad shopping.

Wow, sorry to hear about the premature end to your day. Glad the car and the drivers are safe though. You definitely did the right thing by sticking around and learning the track and experiencing it in some really well driven, cool cars.

Just read ahead in the thread to see that you got back out there! Good job! With a cab and all that heavy stereo gear in there, you're going to wear brakes and tires more than you normally would. If you keep at this track stuff, you're going to want to rip all of those speakers out because the only "soundtrack" you're going to want while driving is a loud exhaust and squealing tires.
