Traqmate antenna

I'm looking for the best place to "mount" my magnetic Traqmate antenna on a 997.1S? At my home track I've been running it up through the cracked open sunroof, but an open sunroof is not allowed for most DE's so I've run it out the driver's side window opening and attached it the the roof above the rear side glass.

Is there a better and possible permanent mounting point through the engine bay or front firewall?

I have mine mounted in front of the windshield under the plastic wiper cowl. The little curved cover pops off and the antenna mounts neatly underneath. I have perfect reception with this...

That sounds like a good location. I'm assuming you passed the wire down through the firewall....where?

I didn't do the work, but my understanding is that they used one of the existing openings..
