alternative to Hans device

I don't have a harness set up but I was looking for added safety.
Since I don't have a harness the Hans is out.

I came across a company called Safety Solutions and they have a couple of devices that look like a very good alternative.

Wondering if any of you have experience with any of these.

Safety Solutions Rage R3

I have the Rage and have used this going on 2 years now. Since not all cars I go in are fitted with harnesses or HANS approved harnesses (I instruct for DE's), this gives me the protection I would want in ANY car.

It looks like the R3 Rage mentions a seat pad that goes with the harness. Do you use this?

Seat pad

John,

I don't use the seat pad - it's been fine with every regular seat I've been in and also with my Recaro SPG's in my car.
