Open Rear Lid to Cool Down?

After a hard auto-x session, would you recommend opening the rear lid to let the engine cool down while idling or leaving it closed?

I always used to pop the hood on my M5, but my 996TT seems to have a pretty strong fan atttached to the decklid.

Thoughts?

NO, let the fan do it's job. After the fan is done, if the car is sitting outside in the sun then open the lid with the motor facing away from the sun to prevent heat soak.

the car and temp sensor in the engine bay with the fan all work together and need to be closed.

ya, autox's arent acutally that awefully hot anyway...its prolonged redline to redline that really puts the temp up...and I do that all the time and just leave the decklid on anyway. Your fine leaving it shut...
