sharkster,
They are one in the same. Only difference is I hard wired to the battery so all I have to do is plug it into a 110v household outlet. You might also look at adding the Griot's battery drain protector part number 36740. www.griotsgarage.com |
Chad,
Where are you getting the CGT seats -- directly from Porsche or after market? I like them too! |
Bob,
In a short time you will be able to get them from Gert at Carnewal. He has the part number but not the pricing. Make sure you get the European ones. I have been told the US market CGT seats are different. |
Thanks Chad!
I'll check with Gert in the near future. Bob |
Bob,
Maybe if enough people are interested, we can get a group buy from Gert? |
Chad,
Sounds good to me! I'd be interested if the price was right. Any other takers? I know that Gert hasn't set a price on them yet, but has he given you any idea of an expected price? On the subject of CF hoods, I noticed in the Patritti website, that they claim to supply CF body parts to Alex Job Racing and are one of 2 authorized Porsche Motorspots suppliers. Maybe they would be worth checking out for CF hoods and other parts. Just a thought. |
Bob,
I don't want to speculate about pricing of the CGT seats at this time. We should know very soon. Regarding the carbon fiber hood. I have a cf hood with great quality. The problem as I understand it is the carbon fiber shrinks in the sun which in turn degrades the paint quality over relatively short period of time.:( |
The Christmas Holidays have been killing me. Killer Angel has been ready to pick up since December 24th. Since then it has been either raining or S Car Go Racing has been closed. Worse yet, it looks like rain over the next six days. :(
|
Chad does the Killer Angel melt in the rain???
hilarious |
Buddy,
She isn't very "friendly" in the rain with her new output. ;) |
Finally received some hard information on the turbo crankshaft. The GT2 and GT3 share the same crankshaft. The same crank is also shared with the GT1. The turbo has a different crank which is not as strong as the GT1, GT2, GT3 crank.
OK Stephen and Kevin, you were correct. |

Well, that is not entirely true. The 996 GTII does not share any difference in the crank as compared to it's AWD brother. The GT3 and GTI do have different ranks. The TT/GTII are the same. .

Mike,
We are in the process of baking the hood. We are going to do this about ten times in hopes the baking drasticlly reduces the outgassing. Hope to have it installed by the end the month. Killer Angel is Arctic Silver. We have decided to clear coat the carbon fiber hood along with painting a black line about a quarter of an inch wide around the top of the edge perimeter. Now wouldn't it be nice if it becomes a smaller radar target. :D |
