Although not a 996tt top speed record by any means, Killer Angel set her personel best with her gearing. Per GPS, 201 mph. Approximately 7600 rpm's using 315 Michelin Pilot Sport Cups.

I always wanted to know if PSCs were Y-rated:)

Evaluation of the Odyssey 680 battery. It reduces weight by approx. thirty pounds. It runs everything including the Reus audio system and head lamps without any problems. The downside is, left unused, the car will not start after three days of no usage.

Chad Chad:
Pics please ^_^
i wanna see the new carbon hood...

cjv Jan 29, 2004 07:08 AM

luting_chen,

Will post some pics after the January 31st meet. Between the Odyssey battery and the carbon fiber hood, we removed fifty-nine pounds from the front end. :D

luting_chen Jan 29, 2004 11:17 AM

wow... 50 already with 2 things...
I'd like to go with Odyssey, but I have this Reus sound system installed... and definetely don't like the battery to die out if the car is not driven for more than 3 days...(happens a lot with me)

cjv Jan 29, 2004 01:04 PM

I have the Reus system also. While using the car ie head lights and sound system, there have been no problems. My fix was to plug in a battery maintainer when not in use. I was simply pointing out both the good and the not so good. :)

^^ hehe... that's be great if I'm living in a house with my own garage... but I live in an apt... and there is no electricity plug at all....and that sucks...
I don't even get a carwash area where I can get people to wash my car... or wash my own cars...
my apt sucks...

Information for some of the bigger dogs. I received a call from RC Engineering last Monday. They now have low impedence injectors available for the 996tt in the 650 cc size. :) The cost from them is about $99.00 per injector. :D

In about one week they are suppose to also have the 750 cc size. I believe stock injectors are 450 cc.

EL750 Feb 25, 2004 07:08 AM

Chad my only concern using the Odyssey would be That with larger injectors at higher pressure you really need to have a well charged battery and a solid alternator. What's your take?

cjv Feb 25, 2004 08:31 PM

EL750,

I don't believe the battery will be a problem while driving the car. I am current running five bar and I have two fuel pumps. Six and a half bar plus shouldn't be a problem. Currently, there is no problem while driving, even at night with the Reus SST and everything else on. The problem is leaving the car parked. My battery will not start the car if it is not started in three days. That is why I plug in a battery maintainer when the car is not being used.

I just received my 1000 cc high impedence injectors. Amazing, I've been promised these since November 2003. A stock 996tt uses 450 cc injectors. The car will be returning to S Car Go Racing for a different Tilton Clutch, installation of the injectors, ECU work due to the injectors and some additional tranny modifications. Should be down for about three weeks.

I feel a world record dyno run for a 996tt is on the horizon. :D

I have received information that the CGT seats are too high to fit in the 996tt. I like the looks of the GT3 seat, however technology, materials, comfort versus pricing just doesn't make sense.

I have recently been looking at the Cobra Suzuka Technology seat. Has anyone used this seat? There is information about this seat at www.subesports.com

john stephanus Mar 6, 2004 08:53 AM

Chad, Tyson said he was familiar with the Cobra seat I believe.
