While discussing the new EVO air box with Porsche PhD on another thread a strange though occured. Once the EVO air box is installed the fuel /air mixture will not go through one original turbo part.

Air box .............................. EVO

Turbo's ............................. S Car Go
Intercoolers ....................... S Car Go
Compressed Air Piping .......... S Car Go
Intercoolers ....................... S Car Go
"Y" Pipe ............................ S Car Go
Throttle Body .................... S Car Go
Intake Plenum ................... EVO
Fuel Rails ......................... EVO
Heads ............................ GT3 Cup
Valves ............................ Manley/Forrea
Pistons ............................Custom ????

Exhaust ........................... Europipe

Better late than never. :D
This piston is a KA mock up. We are going to make it a 9.2-1 compression ratio.

GT3 piston.

Side by side. GT3 100 mm, Killer Angel 102 mm. As shown in the pics, the stock GT3's lift is mild by comparison. The stock GT3 valves are also alot smaller.

Killer Angel's final product will have a slight built up slope in the center tapering down to the valve pockets.

The pistons are finally in production. :D It will be about four weeks to the finished piston product (hopefully May 12th). :D Then two weeks for parts coating and then finally assembly.

As a point of reference, the 102 mm Woosner piston is on left and stock 100 mm turbo piston is on the right.

The width of metal around the outer edge of the intake valve relief looks very narrow.

ebaker,

It is more than thin. hilarious The valve pockets are thru the upper ring groove. Remember.............. it is a mock up for dimensions and the dimensions are for the purpose of valve clearance. What compression we lost in the valve pockets needs to be added to the dome. The clearance is what we were after. The final piston build will have enough substance to withstand 1500 hp.

Will have pics in about three weeks.

Judging from the reply's it appears this topic is over the heads or interests the the majority or 6speed members. :(

Still very interested. Maybe these replys are because they have not read all pages. This is the best thread ever.

Chad, I've been following your various threads since summer 2002 when it all began!

Don't think for a minute that people have either lost interest or that they can't grasp the jest of what you're trying to do.

Personally, I try to respond in areas where I think I might some knowedge of what's going on. The other areas I just read and try to comprehend all the free information that goes into building project KA.

What I admire most about you is your dedication and utter persistense into seeing this through. 99% of everyone would surely have quit a very long time ago.

Chad,

I whole-heartedly agree with 03-turbo911.

Even though I don't post much on 6speed I'm here everyday lingering in the background and I must say I always check this thread. I'm sure everyone else does too. W/o a doubt. The in-depth info that is found in this thread is massive and it's hard to digest especially for the non-tech savvy people (me included), but it's by reading info like this that you learn.

I just can't wait for KA to finally get on the road. She'll def. be one of a kind. One question though.....Do you have any exterior pics of KA?
