Recovering the roll bar

The roll bar in my 996 is covered in black leather. With the heavily tinted windows and the rest of the interior being black, the roll bar is just about invisible. I was thinking it would be sharp to recover it in yellow leather.

Does anybody know how to go about doing this?

if you windows are tinted that dark, what's the point of recovering it since no one will probably be able to see it?

if you want to get it done, just take it out and run it over to an upholstery shop. it won't be cheap though. promise you that.

powdercoating like Viper did is probably the way to go. probably run around $250ish to have that done, not including the labor to remove and reinstall it.

Hey R,

I haven't been on the site for a while. When did you get the GT2? Ultra sweet. Congrats.

The powder coat idea sounds great. I'm going to check into that.

At least two people will see it...me and my passenger . Besides I think that if its yellow it might show up a little better from outside. And I agree with you that the powdercoat idea will come out way cheaper than re-upholstering.
