The MKV GTI's engine is secured at just three locations: the side of the engine, the end of the gearbox, and underneath the engine.

These mounting points execute the critical task of limiting fore-aft engine movement; too much movement results in a loose drivetrain feel coming on and off of the throttle, and increases the chance of wheel-hop under hard acceleration.

VWR parts, as developed by Volkswagen Racing UK for their competition racecars, have released CNC-machined, Dual Durometer Engine Mounts for your VW, reducing engine fore/aft movement by up to 9 degrees.
