Anyone actually try these out for street, AX, DE?
I bought a 996 in Feb 10. My only complaint was how much noise came out of the rear tires. The car sounded like there was no sound deadening in the rear. In Nor Cal there is a lot of rough pavement and the Sumi's sound like there is a hole in the wheel well.

The tires had 2000 miles on them when I bought it. And they lasted about 11K. I was glad there were done.

Good grip though. Feel very confident with the sumi's.

I don't go to the track. The 996 is my daily driver. I drive in the rain and dry. I like the twisties around the south bay hills and the sumi's felt great. But LOUD.

I just replaced them with Continental Extreme contact DW. Very happy with the noise level. Much quieter.

The Conti were real slippery initially, but after 300 miles they feel real good. Good grip. The car feels as confident as it did with the Sumi's without the holes in the wheel wells.

If you drive it every day I would avoid the Sumi's.

I use these for my track tires on my C63. They have decent performance on the track, and driving 100+ miles from my house to tracks like Laguna Seca I didn't notice any noise issue's or a rough ride as compared to my Nitto R555's that my Sumi's replaced. I would say 8/10 in dry conditions, 4/10 in wet.

I have them on my 2004 GT3 and love them, I purchased them with the recommendation from the tirerack and I have used the DUNLOPS in the past and liked them, super good value for that fitment, check them out.

I have them on my 04 GT3 and like them alot, I was skeptical also but the road sound is minimal and they did great on the track as well. I would recommend trying them.

I have these on my 996.

Pretty good tire for the price. I've owned just about every tire on the planet at some point these for daily use rank above average. Prefer the over pilot sports which in my experience have been very loud. I liked my BFG kd w2s better though

I recently upgraded my standard wheels on my 03 996 to BBS LM. also went with 8.5" front and 11" rears, I was not happy with the ride or noise from the continentals, so at the recommendation from tire rack got the Summitomos. I am very happy with them. Very quiet on the road and much smoother, especially on the not so good NJ roads. The turn in is not as precise, but after a few miles I dont notice so much. Prefer them over the Contis anyday. Hope this helps.
