You'd think more tread width = more grip
and less sidewall = better response because there is less sidewall to flex
I suppose you could take a page from drifters who stretch skinny tires onto wide wheels to reduce sidewall flex but the amount of stretch difference between a 305 and 315 is minimal.

also, as far as the stretched thing.. i think toyo made a mistake on every single one of their tires, because when you compare a 315mm toyo, to a 315mm michelin, or a 315mm anything... the toyo is shorter
the steering response from these tires isn't bad...
