just an observation
ive currently gone through 3 different makes of tires on my 19" wheels

the michelin ps2 on a 315.25.19 fits my tires perfectly , and has a great amount of sidewall

the toyo t1r, although one of the crappiest tires to be sold to man kind, fit my i-forged wheel pretty good
it was ever so slightly stretched on my rim , but totally fine and safe

today i put a yokohama 315 25 19 on my rim
and....
... wow

the rim is literally stretched as far as humanly possible on both sides, and leaves about a half inch gap on BOTH sides of the rims...

crazy

how can manufators do this ?
why cant all 315 25 19 tires be the exact same ?

Because then it would be easy to sell them and get the fitments right the first time.

As you have found out there can be quite a bit of variation in size between two brands of the "same" size. Over an inch in width like you described to me via PM is unusual, but not unheard of. The shape of the wheel's lip has a bit to do with it as well sometimes, but if the same wheel was consistent between all 3 tires it isn't a factor here. I regularly see a half inch difference in width within a given size. It doesn't make it easy but it's the way it is. The tire should have been labeled a 305.....

Can you show us pictures? I'd like to see the difference between the two.
