Shipping Wheels/tires
Shipping Wheels/tires
I am going to be shipping wheels and would like to know what people due to ship them. I will probably ship them through fedex adn I don't have access to any boxes that will fit the rims/tires. I was debating on covering the rim part in seran wrap, putting a little bubble wrap on the outside rim part, cutting circles in cardboard , and then taping the covers on both rims parts. Is that a decent way to go?
I used the UPS store and flopped the wheel and tire on the counter. They took care of the whole thing, boxes, wrap, padding and shipping. The worst part was carrying them into the store.
i just shipped a set of 20" wheels last week. I had a shop seran wrap and had cardboard put over the face but it didnt seem to hold together real well. Ended up shipping two boxes with two wheels in each. UPS has a box sized 25x25 and it fit 2 20" rims with tires perfectly. Costed me about $250 insured to ship from FL to CA. Each box with 2 wheels and tires weighed a little over 115lbs.
Thanks. I shipped them last night through the ups store and they did a good job packing them in boxes like yours, 2 per box. Shipping from NH to CA was $290 with insurance and add another $50 for boxing/packaging materials. So thanks for helping me with the shipping dilemma.
Call me. I can sell you full packaging material.
